Roberta Meyer
Roberta Meyer was born in San Francisco. Her first career was as a dancer with the San Francisco and New York City Ballet Companies. Upon her recovery from alcoholism in 1964, she became committed to educating others, especially young people, about the early symptoms of alcoholism, how to deal with alcoholism in the family, and the effects of alcohol and other drugs. As she worked with children and their families on addictive issues, she saw that recovery required a change in communication patterns. The focus of her work shifted in the direction of developing life skills, especially in the areas of communication and intimacy.
Ms. Meyer has received many awards for her work. She is on the Board of Directors of the National Council on Alcoholism and is the President of the Alcoholism Council of California. She has teaching experience, teaching courses for the Federal and California State Probation Dept. and San Francisco State University. Ms. Meyer has also conducted seminars for leading corporations and non-profit organizations. Following is a list of titles she appears in, available exclusively through FMS.
